From The Dean
Dear Friends and Co-Workers
We’re honoured that you’ve expressed interest. It is obvious our Lord Jesus Christ has been speaking to you about being a disciple and a leader in His ministry. Discipleship and leadership in a biblical perspective is a special call for those with a heart for servanthood and a willingness to serve under any circumstance. The call of God is the most important pre-requisite.
The confidence of a builder of a skyscraper is not merely in the magnificence, but the solid foundation of the building, because that’s crucial in any project, as it makes up the building.
At IODALT, we plant truths, and provide you with tools to that are needed to assist your local church and yourself in becoming an excellent leader at the same time your pastor’s keeper. Your response to His call is vital to your success as a genuine disciple and future Apostle of Christ and of His Church.
We have a strong commitment to to training leaders from all walks of life. For many, this means church planting, cell ministries, mission field or the pulpit, while for others this may mean putting the grace and wisdom of the gospel into practice in the kitchen, factories, boardrooms, schools, banks, parliaments, etc.
We exist to equip leaders to be faithful, critical, prophetic and engaged.
FAITHFUL: To Christ and the scriptures.
CRITICAL: Discerning what is best and what is not in the church and society.
PROPHETIC: Speaking into the life of the church and society.
ENGAGED: At the sharp end of the church and society, our worlds present many daunting challenges. We need men and women with hearts committed to Christ to lead the way.
WHAT IS IODALT?
INSTITUTE OF DISCIPLESHIP AND LEADERSHIP TRAINING (IODALT) is on the move! The church is marching on, and the gate of hades shall not prevail against it. IODALT is a vision that has been born and it is fulfilling its purpose.
The vision of IODALT in South Africa, is like the biblical proverb which says, “Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.” (Job 8:7) The Scriptures also say, “Who hath despised the day of humble beginnings.” (Zech 4:10)
IODALT is the manifestation of the voice prophesied by Prophet Isaiah when he spoke about John the Baptist, in Isaiah 40:3-5. Prophet Isaiah said, “The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, prepare ye the way of the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain: And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
IODALT is not a bible college neither is it a seminary. It is a ministerial academy. IODALT is comparable to a small stone in the sling of David that wrought a mighty work in the camp of the Israelites during their encounter with Philistine in the days of Goliath.
IODALT serves to equip the Army of the Lord of Hosts through systematic instruction in both ministerial and Christian education in order to meet the spiritual and physical needs of the students. To God be the glory for the great things He has done. “For whom He foreknew, (He called according to His purpose) He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, and whom He justified, these He also glorified.” (Romans 8: 29-30)
It is obvious that in the churches of our generation, people of all walks of life are being tormented by satan. All have been polluted, corruption and lack of discipline have almost become the “song of praise” everywhere. The curriculum covers it all in order to expose and exterminate the pests both in the church and in the community at large. Where there is vision and there are no people, the vision perishes and where there are people and no vision, the people perish.
The institute is the balanced equation of this saying; those foreknown and predestined, are combined with zeal and passion for the great commission to deliver the world and the local church from the “world” and to reconcile man with God and workers with their senior pastors. In this end-time generation, it cannot be over-emphasized that the heaven bound leaders must be incubated by the Holy Spirit so as to dispense the heavenly mission of our Lord Jesus Christ in all spheres of life. The whole world must hear about this and so Christcentred leaders are needed to present Bible-based, life-related truth, so as to provoke the church leaders against satan. Thus the purpose of IODALT.
Our main purpose is to bridge the gap and fill the valley in the local denominations. We aim to raise the hands of the leaders like Aaron and Hur did, in the wilderness, for the effective functioning of church leaders. This will lead churches to achieve their vision and mission. LIKE Nehemiah, church leaders will be strengthened to build the walls of the local church.
Attending the IODALT course, will enlighten participants to understand that “The purpose of life is to live a life of purpose.”
